Marine
clayey soils are widely deposited along the Lianyungang section of
the LianXu freeway. The sedimentary thickness varies much along the
freeway. Settlement and stability are often encountered for the
embankment on such ground. In this project, the settlement
monitoring was carried ou t during the construction. Based on the
data collected in-situ, the effects of the thickness of crust layer
and clayey soil layers as well as DJM pile distance on the
settlement are analyzed. The relationship between the construction
rate and settlement rate is also discussed. The critical fill height
is determined and the tendency of settlement is predicted.
The achievements of this project provide valuable
references to the other relative
projects.

commission

geotechnical engineering gave high appraisal for the research
results of this project.
