The electrical
resistivity testing technique is one of electrical exploring methods.
Due to its being nondestructive, precise, rapid, low-cost, many
experts at domestic and abroad have made great efforts to develop its
application in geotechnical engineering in recent years.
Since Sep.1999, we have
begun to explore the feasibility of its application for assessing
engineering quality of the Dry Jet Mixing Pile. Based on this
foundation, we organized some experts to manufacture the testing
electrical resistivity equipments, and we will do some research on the
feasibility and availability of its application on the soil
improvement engineering further. Meanwhile, we will study the
correlation between electrical resistivity, fabric and
physical-mechanical property index of clay, composite clay, loess,
expansive soil systematically and fourther. All of this may be value
in improving the testing efficiency, insuring engineering quality,
analyzing the quantitative change of fabric, grasping the mechanics of
strength and distortion flow, revealing the nature of residual and
peak strength and the stress-strain behavior of soils, as well as
connecting the structural parameters and its macroscopic
characteristic.
