Institute of Geotechnical Engineering, Southeast University (IGE_SEU) is one of the earliest research groups that carried out geotechnical engineering in China. IGE_SEU was established in 1954. The master and doctoral students programs started from 1981 and 2000, respectively. Currently, IGE_SEU offers both Master and Doctoral courses. IGE_SEU has 5 professors, 17 associate professors, 5 lecturers, and 5 technicians.
IGE_SEU has distinct research fields including ground improvement, pile foundation engineering, soil behavior, environmental geotechnics, underground space, and in-situ soil testing. The source of the projects are from government, local DOT, as well as companies. The annual research budget of IGE_SEU is approximately 10 million RMB. The publications of IGE_SEU include papers pressed in conventional geotechnical engineering journals including Geotechnique, ASCE J G&G, Canadian Geotechnical Journal, Soils and Foundations, and ASTM Geotechnical Testing Journal, Engineering Geology, as well as interdiscipline journals.
IGE_SEU has established a globally international communications with famous research institutes in USA, Japan, France, Canada, and Australia. Each year, young faculty members and PhD students conduct international collaborations with overseas universities, which are financially supported by Chinese government. We look forward to your visit to IGE_SEU and collaboration in research.
